Thank you all for participating in our weekly iPhone photography contest. This week the contest theme was central composition, and any photos where the subject was placed centrally could be submitted. With a total of 312 submissions, it wasn’t easy to pick the winners, but here are my personal favorites.

How to Enter the Next Photo Contest
Capturing the texture of your subjects is a great way of drawing attention to your images. Texture adds depth and interest to your photos, giving them a 3D-like quality. The aim of photographing texture is to give the viewer a sense of what the object would feel like in real life, such as rough, smooth, fluffy, silky, shiny, slimy, etc.
So the new contest theme is texture, and any photos that clearly show the texture of your subject can be submitted.
To participate, simply tag your photos using IPSTexture tag on EyeEm. You can tag photos in the description field when you upload them, or when you edit the description of a photo that has already been uploaded (tap the three dots icon to edit a photo).
All photos must be shot and edited on iPhone, iPad or iPod touch. Please upload photos to EyeEm in full resolution and without any watermarks to make sure I can feature them on the website. Please do not submit more than 10 photos each week.
The submission deadline is Sunday, August 3.

Thank you all for the wonderful submissions! This was the first week when the winning photos were selected by Kate Wesson, who will be helping me run the IPS blog. I think Kate has done a great job and I’m really happy with her selections!

It’s so hard to pick one favorite but I keep going back to Michal’s beautiful black and white beach shot. Thanks for including my image of the leaf that looked like a tree =)

A wonderful selection of photos as usual, but my personal favorite was the beautiful photo by @atsash. The window draws your eye right past the angles of the monochromatic room to the beautiful colors on the beach. It was an outstanding example of this week’s theme. Good choices Kate Wesson!
